ππ½ Iβm a gaming exec and founder who has been in interactive media for over a decade. Currently, Iβm Head of Strategy and Partnerships at Horizon and Sequence, where I spend time helping game developers understand the benefits of web3 in helping to solve universal challenges including user acquisition, monetization, and retention, and how blockchain-enhanced games can reward players. I write about this, as well as the gaming space overall, here.
Previously, I ran business development, partnerships, creator programs, IP licensing, content, and strategy for the NFT collectibles and gamified marketplace of Animoca Brands.
Before this, I was part of the founding exec team and VP of Business Development & Product at SuperData Research, the world's leading provider of data and strategy on digital games, esports, VR, and gaming video content. SuperData was acquired by Nielsen in 2018 π¦ and I stayed on as a VP there until starting Britesiders.
At SuperData, I led biz dev, product strategy, and partnerships, while crafting the interactive media strategies for some of the worldβs largest gaming companies such as EA, Epic, Riot, and Activision; media like HBO, Fox, Disney, Warner Bros; brands like Coca Cola and Mars; folks like Facebook, Google, Twitch, Apple; and every hedge fund involved in games.
I launched two industry-changing DaaS platforms π, the SuperData Arcade and Arena.
After Nielsen, I cofounded Britesiders, a platform for gamified, interactive charity crowdfunding that raised 300% π more than any other fundraising method. We got up to a lot of shenanigans.
Iβm a gamer at heart, and have seen (and helped spur forward) some of the biggest shifts in the space over the last decade+. Physical -> Digital -> Subscription -> F2P -> The future. I think web3 has the potential to be one of the next great innovations, IF it rewards gamers and is fun.
